The Envira Gallery plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) through the gallery 'description' field due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in versions up to 1.12.4. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts that execute when users view affected galleries. WordPress site administrators and developers using this plugin should prioritize patching to mitigate potential exploitation risks.

Original NVD Description

The Envira Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the gallery 'description' configuration field in all versions up to, and including, 1.12.4 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses a page displaying the gallery with a description enabled.
