CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedGIMP is vulnerable to an integer overflow in its TIF file parsing, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code if a user opens a malicious file or visits a compromised page. The flaw arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied data, leading to potential exploitation in the context of the current process. Organizations using GIMP should prioritize patching this vulnerability to mitigate the risk of remote code execution.

Original NVD Description
GIMP TIF File Parsing Integer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an integer overflow before allocating a buffer.
